Yet, the refreshed edition brings sharper artwork, streamlined rules, and updated components that make it even more engaging.

The board is colorful and inviting, featuring the classic mansion layout with a few design tweaks. The suspect pawns are detailed, and the weapon tokens feel more polished than in older editions. Small changes keep the game fresh without losing its nostalgic charm.

What makes Clue timeless is its perfect mix of deduction, luck, and strategy. Rolling dice introduces unpredictability, but logical thinking drives the gameplay. Every suggestion reveals clues, and every card shown narrows down the mystery. The tension builds with each turn until someone finally pieces it all together.

How to Play?

Step 1: Make Movements. Roll both dice and move your pawn the number shown. You can move forward, backward, or sideways, but you can’t backtrack onto spaces you already crossed during that turn. You also can’t move through another player’s pawn.

If your movement ends at the entrance of a room, you enter that room immediately. On later turns, if you are inside a room with a Secret Passage, you may use it to move directly to another listed room instead of rolling dice.

If another pawn blocks a door, you must wait until they move before entering. Sometimes, this means staying put until your next turn.

Step 2: Make a Suggestion. When you enter a room, you may make a Suggestion. Announce a suspect and a weapon along with the room you’re in. For example: “I suggest it was Colonel Mustard with the Lead Pipe in the Study.”

Move the named suspect pawn and weapon token into your room. Suggestions test what other players know.

Step 3: Check Cards. After a suggestion, the player on your left must secretly show you one card if they have one you named. If they cannot, the next player checks, and so on. Once a card is shown, you know it cannot be in the solution envelope. Mark it down on your detective sheet.

Step 4: Continue Deduction. Play proceeds clockwise. Each turn gives you more information. Cross off suspects, weapons, and rooms as you eliminate possibilities. Clever players often make suggestions with cards they already hold, forcing opponents to reveal other clues.

Step 5: Make an Accusation. When you feel certain of the solution, make a final Accusation. State the suspect, weapon, and room. Then secretly check the envelope. If you are correct, reveal the cards and win the game instantly. If wrong, you are eliminated from making future guesses but must still reveal your cards if asked.
